Sharon Baker, 80, of Danville, IL passed away at 9:51 AM on July 4, 2024 at Accolade Healthcare of Danville.

Sharon was born on May 3, 1944 the daughter of Glen and Thelma (McMahon) Coonce in Danville, IL. She married William A. Baker on May 3, 1973 and her preceded her in death on March 29, 2020.

Survivors include her children, Shari (Jeffery) Mays of Mt. Zion, IL, Dorrie (Michael) Pierce of Danville, IL and Darrin (Kimeri) Shull of Dwight, IL, nine grandchildren, Nicklas and Lucas Mays, Jessica, John and Eric Pierce, Cameron and Calie Shull and Amanda and R. J. Rodrick. Also surviving as her siblings, Donald (Jeanie) Coonce of Paris, IL and Susan Hoult of Chrisman, IL, as well as numerous great grandchildren.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Baker, her brothers, Billy, Jack and Tom Coonce and sister, Betty Cusick.

Sharon owned and operated her own beauty parlor, Bakers Beauty Barn for many years. She enjoyed spending her free time working in her yard and flower gardening, taking walks, bowling, swimming and listening to music.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Jay Sorrell will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in Sharons memory to the American Cancer Society or to the Resident Activities Fund at Accolade Healthcare in Danville, IL.
