Sgt. Kenneth Nichols Jr.

SGT. Kenneth Nichols Jr., 28, of Gerogetown passed away on December 1, 2009 in Afghanistan while serving in the U.S. Army. Kenneth was born July 21, 1981 in Boca Rotan, FL. son of Kenneth Nichols Sr. and Sandra Nutter Nichols. He married Lexi Cravens on January 26, 2008. She survives along with children: Brhyleigh age 6, Kenneth III age 4, Branden age 3, and Pailynn 9 months; sisters: Lisa (Larry) Henson of Chrisman, IL, and Cindy (George) Guthrie of Grovetown, GA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. Kenneth graduated High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was currently serving in Afghanistan in Company D 2nd Battalion 12 Infantry 4 BCT out of Fort Carson, CO. He enjoyed riding his Harley and woodworking. He was a member of the Chrisman American Legion Post #477. A Celebration of SGT. Kenneths Life will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 14, 2009 at Georgetown High School with Pastor Joe Humrichous officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-8 pm with the family receiving guests from 2-4 pm and 5-8 pm at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL.
