Scott A. Reed, 55, of Danville, formerly of Sullivan, passed away at 8:03 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2026, in OFS Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2026 at Crossroads Christian Church, Danville with funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Miles Clark officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026 at the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Reed Funeral Home Sullivan with Pastor Miles Clark and Pastor Bill Wiggs officiating. Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan, with military rites conducted by Sullivan American Legion Post 68. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested for Jarrett’s College Education Fund.
Scott was born June 19, 1971 in Danville, the son of Lynn and Karen Evans Reed. Scott had been a licensed funeral director for over 25 years. He attended Crossroad Christian Church in Danville. Scott enjoyed model trains and especially steam engine trains and going to New York Yankees baseball games with Jarrett. He organized Pheasants Forever Youth Programs for many years. He served in the Illinois National Guard. Scott married Tracie Sexton Smith on June 12, 2021 in Danville.
Surviving is his wife Tracie of Danville; son Jarrett of Danville, bonus children Ariana (Alex) Smith, Hailee Smith, Mallory Smith and Grant Smith; parents Lynn and Karen Reed and sister Angela all of Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
