Scott Corey. Islam Jr., 33, of Danville, died at 1:10pm, Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana. He was born on August 9, 1980, in Danville, the son of Scott C. Islam Sr. and Starla (Cundiff) Islam. He was married to Tiffany Bruso on August 14, 2012, in Danville. She survives. He was preceded in death by: his paternal & maternal grandparents; Nicki Islam & Bette Elliott, & Clifford H & Roberta G Cundiff, his uncles Cliff Cundiff Jr. and Jeff Islam, Aunt Debbie (Islam) Myers and an infant from his marriage with Tiffany. Scott also leaves behind: his parents, Starla & Scott Islam Sr.; his sons, Makani Thomas & (Any day) Malakai Ninja Islam; his daughters, Leilani Islam & Hayleigh Bruso; his brothers, Sgt. Devin Geisert & Justin Shaw; his sister, Angela Elliott; his special cousin/brother, Joey (Sarah) McQueen; his God-children,& special nephews Tevin (baby boy)McQueen, Kyler Modglin, Kaleb(Wiggles) McQueen, Carter(Batman)McQueen & Bentley (Bean)McQueen, Special cousins Nathan, Laurie, & Nicki and the Islam, Elliott & Perez family. God-children Sophia Rose, Cameron Howard, Little Joe Joe Flores, Gina & Julianna Spenser, Gaylen Lee Connelly & a special aunt Brenda (Aunt B) Martin, grandma Marty, Mama Thomas and his dog, Mischief. Special friends Joey (Angie) Flores, Nick (Mindy)Pierce, Danny Spencer, Amy Joe Lappin, Misty Gail Parsons, Danny OBlenis, Randal Carter, Jeremy Lappin, AB(Bubba)Taylor, John Flores, Chad & Joey Alvarez, & so many more loving family members and friends. Scott was affectionately known as “Uncle Scotty”. Scott was an Iron worker with Local#380. He also had worked for Pabst Disposal Company. He was a kind & loving son, husband, father, uncle, cousin, nephew & more than anything friend. He was giving & compassionate and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He loved to play pool, go four-wheeling, fishing and to buy-sell & trade ANYTHING. Everyone knows that he just couldnt pass up a good deal. He had a love for music, reading, drawing, & Al Capone. He loved spending time with his family, friends, wife & children. Scott had a special love for animals especially his brothers dog Marley. A funeral service for Scott will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, March 7, 2014, at Sunset Funeral Home, Danville, with Lee Cronkite officiating. Visitation will be held 4pm-8pm, Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Songer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Scott Islam Jr. Fund set up for his wife & kids, at Landmark credit union in Danville.
