Scott Bland

Danville - Scott “Otis” Bland, 53, of Danville, passed away on April 2, 2014. He was born August 18, 1960 in Danville, IL the son of Eugene “Gene” Bland and Shirley Wright. He married Debbie Parrett on August 8, 1992 in Danville. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; his mother, Shirley (John) Wright; his son, Scotty Bland; his daughters, Heather Bland, Alaintha Bear, and Beth Bland; his brothers, Mike (Jackie) Bland and Steve (Stephanie) Bland; and his grandchildren, Austin, Ashlynn, Teagan, Reanna, Brenden, Teddy, and Emily. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene. Scott was a loving, thoughtful, helpful, and supportive man. He loved to start new projects; whether it was working on a car, or helping paint a living room. He was a carpenter by trade but he was capable of building and putting just about anything together. Scott also loved to go fishing and to simply be outdoors; unless a Cardinals game was on, then he would be watching them. Above all else, Scott loved his family and he will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. A private family service celebrating Scotts life will be held on a later date.
