Scott Allen Siddens, 51, of Danville, passed away at 10:46 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2005 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center Logan Campus in Danville. Scott was born on August 13, 1953 in Danville, the son of Donald and Laura (Turner) Siddens. He married Deborah Brown on July 16, 1999 in Danville. She survives. He is survived by his parents- Donald and Laura Siddens of Tilton; wife- Deborah Siddens of Danville; 1 son- Beau Scott (Angie) Siddens of Georgetown, Illinois; 1 step-son- Steve Spoden of Danville; 2 step-daughters- Kristi Spoden of Danville and Heather (Daniel) Sams of Nashville, Tennessee; 1 sister- Christy (Chuck) OBrien of Danville; 6 grandchildren- Parker, Shelby, Ryan, Easton, Hanna, and one grandchild due in January; 1 very special dog- Abby; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and several very close friends. He was preceded in death by his brother- Billie D. Carder, paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, 1 uncle- Bill Turner, and 1 aunt- Shirley Willoughey. Scott attended Tilton Grade School and Danville High School. After school he joined the U.S. Navy in 1972 to 1978 serving in Vietnam. After the service Scott worked at General Motors until 1983. He has worked at the V.A. for the past 22 years as a cook. He was an avid Cardinals fan. Scott loved to golf. He played in several city golf games. He also loved to bowl. Scott bowled a 300 game at Lincoln Lanes. He also loved to fish and play pool. Scott enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of the life of Scott Allen Siddens will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2005 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Rev. Steve Rutter officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery in Danville. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post #210.
