Sarah Pauline Stanford

Sarah Pauline Stanford, 86 of Danville passed away at 7:00am Sunday February 27, 2005 at St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport, in. She was born August 3, 1918 in Villa Grove, IL a daughter of Jesse and Isabelle Akers Cumbow. She attended schools in Fairmount, IL. She married Wayne Myron Stanford on July 20, 1936.He preceded her in death January 31, 1991, surviving are two daughters Constance J. (Howard) Eby of Henderson, NV, Donna (Richard) Potter of West Lebanon, IN, one brother Calvin Cumbow of Veedersburg, IN, a sister Faye Scripter of Danville, five grandchildren Karyn (Gregory) Taylor of Olivenhain, CA, Lynda (John) Butler of Bloomington, IL, Pam (John) Larson of Williamsport, IN, Rich (Reena) Potter and Dave (Holly) Potter both of West Lebanon and ten great-grandchildren She was preceded by her parents, three brothers and three sisters. Sarah had retired from Sears Roebuck and Co in Bloomington in 1983. She is a former member of the Bismarck First Church of Christ, Eastview Christian Church of Bloomington and was currently a member of Northland Christian church in Danville. She was a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed many senior activities. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as her two special longtime friends Martha Nesbitt and Elizabeth Cunningham.
