Sarah Opal Hatfield

Danville- Sarah Opal Hatfield, 94, of Danville passed away at 9:25 AM on Tuesday June 29, 2010 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born on September 2, 1915 in Barn Hill, IL to William H. and Ollie May Glaspey Wells. She married Veston Edward Hatfield on December 23, 1933 in Danville. Surviving are one son Raymond Edward (Dorothy) Hatfield; daughter Carolyn (Kendall) Goff; sister Dorothy Livingston; 5 grandchildren Delorah (Vernie) Denton, Raymond Edward Hatfield, Jr., Diane (Terrance) Treadway, Shaun Spillers, and Sarah Spillers; 5 great-granddaughters and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters. Opal had been a member at the Church of God in Danville and enjoyed gardening. Services for Sarah Opal Hatfield will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Pastor Raymond Gordon will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, July 2, also at Sunset in Danville.
