Sarah Sally McArdle, 91, of Perrysville, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2010 at the Hawthorne Inn, Danville, Illinois. Sally was born on March 21, 1919 in Danville, the daughter of Joseph Ford and Mary (Stipp) MacGirvin. She married Roy W. McArdle Sr. and after many wonderful years of marriage he preceded her in January of 1995. Survivors include two step-children Roy (Patricia) McArdle Jr. of New Port Richey, Florida and Carol Damilano of Perrysville, Indiana; four step-grandchildren: Michael (Susan) Chrostowski, Theresa (Dan) Lewis, Barbara (Patrick) Chasco, and Sandra McArdle; five step great grandchildren; Sarah (Andrew), Bradley, Betsy, Ryan, and Katie; several nieces and nephews, a special niece Marilyn McArdle, who regularly sent flowers and chocolates; as well as a special friend Ginger Roane of Weslaco, Texas. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, two sisters, a niece and a nephew. Roy and Sally had a family business, McArdle Flying Service, based in Harlingen, Texas and Lookeba, Oklahoma. She worked in the office, dealing with suppliers, ordering parts for the planes, and flagging fields to be sprayed. Sally was a pilot as well. She loved animals and always fed the neighborhood cats & dogs. During the 1970s, Roy and Sally were active members at First Baptist Church in Danville and worked diligently in the bus ministry. Roy and Sally supported many missionaries as well as the Lester Rolloff Homes in Texas. A Celebration of Sallys Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Jerry Cummins officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Lower Mound Cemetery in Covington, Indiana. A special thanks to Dr. Tim Horner and the nurses and nurses aids at the Hawthorne Inn.
