Sarah M. Michael

Sarah M. Michael, 99, of Westville, passed away peacefully Friday September 8, 2017 at Presence USMC, Danville. She was a lifelong resident of Westville and was born on November 24, 1917 in Danville. The daughter of Martin and Mary Mackovic. She was first married to Clarence "Lefty" Garowski and later married Harold Michael. She is survived by her daughter Patty (Wayne) Bryant, her grandchildren; Michael (Michele) Bryant and Melissa (Brent) Richards all of Westville. Grandma Sarah was especially proud of her six great grandsons; Matthew, Mitchell, Kyle, Ethan, Max and Evan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Mitchell, and brothers; Joseph and Martin Mackovic, her husband of 20 years, Harold Michael and her great-granddaughter Maggie Bryant. Sarah worked at the Grab IT Here, Westville 5 & 10, General Motors, and retired from General Electric in 1982. She continued working part time for the family business at Bryant's Auto Parts and Recycling in Danville. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville and enjoyed her travels on bus trips, playing cards with her friends and spending time with her great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be 12:00 pm Monday September 11, 2017 at St Mary's Church, 231 N. State St., Westville with Father Timothy Sauppe officiating. Visitation will be 10:00am to 12:00pm noon at the Church prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Sts Peter & Paul Cemetery.
