Sarah L. Carpenter

Cayuga, Ind. - Sarah L. Carpenter, 34, of rural Cayuga passed away Tuesday evening, September 8, 2020 at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Illinois.

Sarah was born August 27, 1986 in Clinton, Indiana the daughter of Loretta (Miller) Goble and Leslie Peterson.

She married Kyle Carpenter on August 23, 2014 in Newport, Indiana. He survives.

Other survivors include her son: Lenny Carpenter; mother: Loretta Goble of Cayuga, Indiana; father: Leslie Peterson of Cayuga, Indiana; paternal grandmother: Marie Jane Peterson of Cayuga, Indiana; mother-in-law: Suzette Carpenter of Indianola, Illinois; father-in-law: Scott (Penney) Carpenter of Cayuga, Indiana; grandparents-in-law: Leonard (Claudia) Carpenter of Danville, Illinois and Patricia Prunkard of Indianola, Illinois; her siblings: Nickie (Seth) McLain of Veedersburg, Indiana; Lesley (Dan) Keyes of Brownsburg, Indiana; Jake (Kylie) Peterson of Montezuma, Indiana; Dean Goble of Danville, Illinois; Deana Goble of Terre Haute, Indiana and Jimmy McQueen of Cayuga, Indiana; brother-in-laws: Tyler and Caleb Carpenter of Indianola, Illinois, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sarah was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather: Bert Peterson; grandfather-in-law: Doug Prunkard and aunt: Louella Peterson.

Sarah enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, spending time outdoors, homemaking projects and collecting mason jars for her holistic projects. She especially enjoyed listening to oldies country music with her son, along with going on walks, watching their chickens in the yard and just being a momma. She will be dearly missed by all.

A Celebration of Life Gathering and lunch will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11 a.m. EDT at the Cayuga Community Center. Per her family's request, casual attire would be appreciated. Contributions may be made to the GCS Project, 2795 Estates Drive, Park City, Utah 84060. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
