Sarah Jo Voyles

Sarah Jo Voyles, 81, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 7:05pm, Friday, February 11, 2022, at her home. She was born in Harriman, Tennessee, on January 10, 1941, the daughter of Royal Ellis and Eva {Cross} Murray. She was united in marriage to R. Eugene Voyles on December 22, 1968, until his passing on February 24, 2009. She was later married Jerry Nelk in San Antonio, Texas, and he will miss her dearly. She is also survived by her children, Shelly Pierre, Trudie (Billy) Edmond, Danny Andrews, Betty (Mitch) Langford, Emily Neukrich, Melody Voyles, & Jeanette Elliot; many grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; and her good friends, Barbara Raines Culbert & Marguerite Blakeney; as well as her Church family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, R. Eugene Voyles; and her daughter, Lisa Grupe. Jo was a member to East Park Church of Christ, and she loved hearing the Gospel. She also loved singing and mowing her yard as well as traveling to San Antonio, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, & grandmother and was known to put everyone before herself. Above all, she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. A Celebration of Jos life will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846, with Steve Cordle officiating. Visitation will be held 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Tuesday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm. Memorial donations may be given to the East Park Church of Christ or a homeless charity of donors choice.
