Sarah 'Jane' Chandler

Sarah "Jane" Chandler, 95, of Georgetown, passed away at 10:00pm, Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman. She was born on April 18, 1920, in Georgetown the daughter of James R. and Ruby {Whitecotton} Sanders. She was united in marriage to John "Jack" Chandler on April 20, 1941, in Lafayette, IN, until his passing in 2000. She is survived by: her children, Jim (Sandy) Chandler of Georgetown & Karen (John) Kirk of Dyer, IN; her son-in-law, Michael Morgan of Cayuga, IN; her eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren; her brother, Jack Sanders of Bryant, AL; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her daughter, Kathy Morgan; her two infant grandsons, James Eric & Jacob Thomas Chandler; and her sister, Mary Bromley. Jane graduated from Georgetown High School in 1938. She enjoyed being a farm wife, playing in Euchre Clubs, doing Crossword Puzzles, & playing the piano. She was a member of the Georgetown Friends Church. Jane especially loved being with her family and grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Georgetown Cemetery, with Pastor John Myers officiating. Memorial donations may be given in Jane's name to Quaker Friends Church. Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown assisted her family with arrangements.
