Rossville Sarah E. Roark, 83, of Rossville, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:39 PM on June 7, 2022 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, IL.
Sarah was born on August 13, 1938 the daughter of Harold and Luella (Harvey) Myers in Newport, IN. She married Douglas "Pat" Roark on October 23, 1958 in Hoopeston, IL and he survives.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas "Pat" Roark of Rossville, IL, four children, Catherine (Thomas) Kasallis of Hoopeston, IL, Douglas (Susan) Roark of West Lafayette, IN, Angela (Tim) Jessee of St Joseph, IL and John (Cody) Roark of Alvin, IL, eight grandchildren, Michelle, Sarah, Adam, April, Carmen, Sara, Tori and Keegan, eight great grandchildren as well as three siblings, Robin Henager of Champaign, IL, Carolyn Query of Westville, IL and Joy (Allan) Harper of Catlin, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Linda, Christina, Harold "Bud" and Patty.
Sarah was a member of St Anthony Church in Hoopeston, IL and enjoyed spending her free time watching the birds, especially cardinals, working crossword puzzles and word searches, walking in the woods, and playing B.I.N.G.O. and various other board games. She adored her family and loved to babysit her grandchildren. Attending church and the Christmas season were very important to Sarah. She was also an avid Hoosier fan and she and her husband were members of the Illiana Antique Auto Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at St Anthony Church, 423 S 3rd Street, Hoopeston, Illinois 60942. Father Thomas Gibson will officiate. A Graveside Committal Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park, 3901 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61832. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St Anthony Church or the Hoopeston Library.
