Sarah E. Hamick, 90, of Tyler, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 20, 2015 after a brief illness. She was born on July 23, 1925 to Hazel and James Allen. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Mary Huffman and Clifford Allen. Sarah was a lifelong resident of Danville and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Danville. She leaves her husband of 72 years, Melvin Hamick. They were married on September 12, 1943 and had a long and loving relationship. They raised two children, daughter Nancy Dubre of Tyler,Texas and son David Hamick of Danville,Il. They had three grandchildren; Amy Hamick of Danville, Chris Hamick of Fernandina, Fl and Scott (Vandy) Dubre of Tyler, Texas and four great grandchildren; Ashley Constans of Danville, Emery Dubre, Annan Dubre and Maillie Dubre of Tyler,Tx. Sarah will be remembered by family and friends for her sweet gentle spirit and her easy smile. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She later worked at Lakeview Memorial Hospital as a ward clerk. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and tending her flower gardens. Melvin and Sarah made many friends as avid square dancers and enjoyed traveling. Melvin retired from Danville School District 118 and they became snowbirds and spent winters in Tuscon, Arizona with their dear friends Delmar and Dorthy Owens. They lived in State Line, Indiana for several years prior to moving to Tyler, Texas at the urging of their daughter. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 12:00-2:00 on December 26, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL.
