Sara Owens

Sara L. Owens, 85, of Danville, IL went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 17, 2020, at the Hearth of Stones Crossing in Greenwood, IN. She was born May 24, 1934, in Danville, IL., the daughter of Max and Leota Wahlfeldt. She graduated from Danville High School in 1954, and married Robert D. Owens on September 10, 1955. They had two sons, David and Rick.

Sara was a faithful member of her churches in Danville, IL and Summerfield, FL, where her and her husband retired and moved for 22 years before returning back to the Midwest. She loved God, her family, and her friends. Sara also worked at Hardings Pharmacy in Danville for 12 years.

Sara is survived by her husband, Robert; her son, Rick and daughter-in-law Sheila of Indianapolis, IN; her brother, Sam Wahlfeldt, of Boulder, CO; five grandchildren (Lynn Hernandez, Jim, Angela Mancini, Christopher, Matthew) and 7 great-grandchildren.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents and one son, David.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834, followed by a private family burial at the Lutheran Cemetery in Danville.
