Sara J. Lomax, 87, of Tilton, passed away at 12:00pm on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born on April 8, 1924 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Harry and Myrtle (Cunningham) Harton. Both are deceased. She married her first husband; Bill Hoover, and later, her second husband; Alpheus Lomax, they both preceded her in death. Sara is survived and will be missed by her close family friends; Alma Jane Lovett of Catlin, and Lisa and Ricky Miller of Tilton. She will also be missed by her niece; Betty Meitner, and her sister-in-law; Dorothy Blue, as well as her church family. In addition to her parents and two husbands, her five sister; Ethel, Elizabeth, Nora, Dorothy, Margaret, her five brothers; Robert, Warren, Harry, Gaylord, and Mitchell Harton, as well as her dear friend; Chris White preceded Sara in death. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Danville, and enjoyed shopping, dining out, helping her husband Alpheus, which was owner/operator of Beck's Bait Shop', and visiting the local Casino's for fun. A Celebration of Life service for Sara J. Lomax is scheduled for 3:00pm on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial to follow at Oakhill Cemetery. Pastor James Ford has been asked to officiate Sara's service. Visitation for family and friends will began at 2:00pm until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial condolences may be made in Sara's name to the Abundant Life Church in Danville.
