Sara Brooks

Sara E. Brooks, age 84, of Danville, passed away at 2:18 pm on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born July 27, 1923 in Danville the daughter of Otto and Grace (Hill) Crawford. Sara married Wayne P. Brooks on April 17, 1948 in Danville. He preceded her in death in May of 1964. She is survived by two daughters: Susan Kay Brooks and Cathy Jo Cintella both of Danville; one grandson: Dennis Wayne (Carrie) Stevenson of Bloomington, IL; and two great granddaughters: Mallory Elizabeth and Macey Jo Ellen Stevenson both of Bloomington, IL. Sara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son: Dennis Wayne Brooks, two brothers, three sisters, and one son-in-law: Richard Cintella. Sara worked for Cunningham Photo Service for twenty years before working as an x-ray receptionist at St. Elizabeth Hospital until her retirement in 1988. She liked reading, collecting turtles, and bowling. Sara enjoyed playing Bingo. What she loved most was visiting and spending time with her grandson and great granddaughters. She was a past member of the Danville Womens Bowling Association and the Lincoln United Methodist Church.
