Sara A. Congleton

Covington, Ind. - Sara A. Congleton, 90, a resident of The Waters of Covington since September 2014 and formerly of Perrysville, Indiana passed away at 12:04 a.m. EDT Thursday, July 21, 2016 at The Waters of Covington. She was born September 2, 1925 in Perrysville, Indiana the daughter of the late Joe and Chloe (Teegarden) Lewis. Sara married William L. Congleton on June 19, 1943 in Houston, Texas. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1998. Survivors include two sons, Jeff Congleton of Covington, Indiana and Russ (Nancy) Congleton of Durham, North Carolina; six grandsons; one granddaughter; five great grandchildren; sister, Meredith Hollingsworth of Brownsburg, Indiana, and her special friend, Charlotte Newell of Perrysville, Indiana. Sara was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers. Sara was a homemaker. She also formerly served as the Clerk/Treasurer for the town of Perrysville for several years. Sara was a member of the Perrysville United Methodist Church. She was a 1943 graduate of Perrysville High School. Sara enjoyed gardening and watching college basketball.
