Sandy Hughes

Sandy Hughes 76, of Mahomet IL. passed away at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. on Sunday July 23rd, 2023.

She was born in Effingham, IL. on August 28, 1946 the beautiful daughter of Kenneth and Aileen Davis.

She is survived by her sister, Lisa Burbaker (David), son, Kelly Ireland, niece, Jessica Whidden, great nieces, Tiger Lilly Whidden and Laila Brubaker, great nephew, River Whidden, ex husband Charles Ireland and sister in law, Sheila Chilton-Davis.

Sandy enjoyed gardening, artwork, traveling, reading, going on walks, and teaching elementary school. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, generosity and love of life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ray Hughes, sister, Linda Davis, brothers, Steve and Dan Davis and niece, Elizabeth Brubaker.
