Sandra Kay West

Sandra Kay West, born on November 11, 1939, in Danville, IL, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, in Danville, IL. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose legacy will continue to live on through her family.

Sandra is survived by her son, Kenneth West, and her daughter, Kay Jones. She was proud of her grandchildren: Kevin West, Candace Ross, Michael Jones, Jessica Jones, and Melissa Jones. Additionally, she leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren who brought her much joy and happiness.

Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Carlisle, her father, Lewis Thomas, and her son, Randy West. She also mourned the loss of her brothers, Raymond Thomas, Jimmy Thomas, and Bill Thomas, as well as her sisters, Virginia Mullins and Carol Thomas Scott.

Throughout her life, Sandra was known for her interests in various activities. She participated in three different bowling leagues and enjoyed crocheting doilies. Above all, her family was her greatest passion, and she cherished the time spent with them.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday March 8, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Officiating will be Raymie Gordon. Burial will follow at Newtown Hebron Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
