Danville Sandra Sue Wasson, 58, of Danville, IL passed away at 9:57 PM at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville on March 6, 2023.
Sandra was born on January 17, 1965, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Foster) Tinder in Danville and was adopted by Ray and Betty Bann. She married Curtis Wasson on July 7, 1995, in Danville, IL and he survives.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Curtis Wasson of Danville, IL, eight children, Kristina (Chris) Wasson of Danville, IL, Amber (Bo Davis) Tutwiler of Danville, IL, Cassandra (Gary) Hoaks of Covington, IN, Kayla (Joe) Rudy of Danville, IL, Cierra Wasson of Brighton, TN, Adrianna (Octavis) Conner of Danville, IL and Macey (Adam) Dukes of Tilton, IL, one step-daughter, Holly Hicks of Bloomington, IN, her father, Donald (Sherry) Tinder of Tilton, IL, twenty-three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
She is also survived by eight sisters, Leta (Roger) Thompson, Nancee (Bob) Keller, Jamie (Chris) Hicks, Margie Sentelle, Melissa (Thomas) Privey, Amanda Lohse, Karlee Tinder, Jasmine Tinder, and two brothers, Greg Tinder, William (Misty) Parson. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins including her caregiver niece Shannon Shepherd, and a few very close and special friends.
Sandra is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy (Tinder) West, her adoptive parents, Ray and Betty Bann, two sisters, five brothers, and one grandson, Ajay.
Sandra loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending her free time playing a variety of card and board games, playing B.I.N.G.O., traveling to Tennessee and visiting the Amish country.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Kiley Garrison will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Oakwood, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Thyroid Cancer Association or the Kidney Foundation.
