Danville; Sandra “Sandy” Mulcahey, 64, of Danville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and close friend on Saturday, July 27th, 2013. She was born August 2, 1948 in Paxton, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Lydia Feller Moser. She married Michael Mulcahey on November 26, 1966 in Champaign, Illinois. He survives. Other survivors include 2 sons; Gregory (Connie) Mulcahey of Danville and Brian (Tracey) Mulcahey of North Liberty, Iowa; 1 Brother, Richard Moser of Rankin; 3 sisters, Doris Hofer of Ft Myers, Florida, Betty (Herman) Beier of Rankin, and Edythe Clements of Texas; 5 Grandchildren, Ashlyn and Ryleigh of North Liberty, Iowa and Peyton, Sophia and Rion of Danville. Sandy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, JoAnne Keller. Sandy was a 1966 graduate of Rankin High School. She was an avid golfer and held multiple club championships at the Danville Country Club, Turtle Run Golf Course, and at the Joliet Country Club. Sandy enjoyed playing cards with her friends and truly loved playing cards with Mike and her granddaughters. She served on the board of directors for the Danville Salvation Army, including assisting with Toys for Tots. Sandy was a past member of the St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary; an active member of St. Pauls Catholic Church and headed up local bible studies. A Mass of Christian Burial for Sandra Mulcahey will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Danville. Father Greg Nelson will officiate. As per her wishes, cremation rites will follow the funeral. Private burial will be held at Union Cemetery in Rankin, Illinois at a later date. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with prayer services at 3:30 p.m. Please join Sandys family in sharing photos and videos of her life through her tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
