Sandra 'Sandi' Lee Sherman

Sandra (Sandi) Lee Sherman, 72 of Georgetown, Illinois passed away on Saturday August 15, 2020 at 8:12pm at OSF Sacred Heart surrounded by her family. She was born April 5, 1948 to Ray and Betty Baker in Bakersfield California. She is survived by her son Doug (Tammy) Howard of Georgetown, two grandsons Ryan (Brooklyn) Howard of Charleston and Dylan Howard of Georgetown and one great-granddaughter Josephina Howard. She was preceded in death by her daughter Tina Howard (Seminole, Florida), a brother Jerry Baker of California and her parents. Sandi moved to Illinois in 1970 after marrying John Howard and the two divorced in 1983. Sandi became an LPN in 1980 where she graduated from Danville Junior College. She worked at Lakeview Medical Center and many nursing homes before moving to Seminole Florida in 1997. She worked at Bay Pines VA in Clearwater Florida and retired in 2016. Sandi grew up racing midgets in the early 1960s and has always loved every aspect of racing including watching NASCAR and Indy racing. She also spent many years with horses raising and showing them in the 70s & 80s. A celebration of Sandis life will be held privately by her family. Her arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846.
