Sandra Lynn Owens

Sandra Lynn Owens, 63, of Covington, Indiana passed away peacefully at her home on June 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born on March 2, 1962, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Charles E. and Dorthy E. Purple.

Sandy was married to Timothy J. Owens on August 9th, 1986. He preceded her in death.

Sandy is survived by her children; Shawn (Brianna) Purple, Amanda (Brandon) Brooks, her granddaughters; Madison Owens, Mariah Owens, Karlie Owens, Faith Brooks, Aubrey Purple, and Makayla Purple, grandsons; Cameron Brooks, and Colton Brooks, sisters; Pat (Randy) Pitlick, Mary Brakely, and Shelly Bodine, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tim, baby sister Kathy, sister Cheryl Pentecost, sister-in-law Kim, brother-in-law Chuck, nephews Kyle, Timothy, and Mike.

Sandy received her Nursing License from Danville Area Community College. She worked as a Nurse in the Covington-Danville Polly Clinic. She later ran a bait shop out of her and her husband’s garage in Covington. Sandy enjoyed her later years at home on the river. She loved crocheting and doing arts and crafts. She had a relationship with Jesus Christ, and he was her Lord and Savoir. Above all else she enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren. Sandy will always be remembered as a beautiful and wonderful mother, and loving Mamaw and darling little baby sister.
