Sandra Mccool

Cayuga, Indiana – Sandra K. McCool, of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 2:07 p.m. on September 11, 2024, at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.

She was born December 22, 1948, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of the late James Robert and Lillie A. (Russell) Larrance. She married John McCool on August 17, 1970, in Tampa, Florida. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2003.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly (Tom) Bennett, of Cayuga, Indiana, Sheri (Brian) Waymouth of Danville, Illinois, one son John (Brenda) McCool of Kingman, Indiana and one daughter in law, Mary Stevens; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her infant daughter Melody Ann Stevens; her son James (Jim) Stevens; her grandson Christopher Burchett; and her brother John D. Larrance.

Sandy retired from Eli Lilly & Company in Clinton, Indiana in 2004. She was a 1967 graduate of Ridgefarm High School. Sandy was a lifetime member of the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Unit past President. She was Danville VA 6th District Rep and past President and she belong to the 840 also past President. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, reading and volunteer work.

Visitation: Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (EST), at Sunset’s DeVerter Chapel, Cayuga, Indiana with Auxiliary Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. There will be no funeral services. Per Sandy’s wish cremation will be accorded following visitation. Contributions may be made to the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263, 904 W. Ferry Street, Cayuga, Indiana 47928.
