Sandra Kay Lewis

Sandra Lewis, 71, of Westville, passed away at 11:05am, Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Illini Heritage Nursing Home, Champaign. She was born on March 28, 1942, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Bronie and Frances (Watts) Betout. She married Butch Lewis on June 10, 1961, in Georgetown. He preceded her in death on October 14, 1995. She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Kruger; four grandchildren, Dustin and Brandon Miller, Caitlin Kruger and Desiree (Fred Roberson) Butts; three great grandchildren, Lezlie and Lily Miller and Sophia Roberson; one brother, Larry (Linda) Betout Sr.; three nephews, Richard (Kandy) Betout Jr., Michael Betout and Larry (Lindsey) Betout Jr.; one niece, Dianna Lynn Betout; one son in-law Danny Miller and many special friends. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Cindy Miller and Susan Lewis and one brother, Richard (Bibby) Betout Sr. Sandra loved being outdoors, fishing, camping, gardening and mushroom hunting. Her family loved when she made her chicken & noodles and chop suey. Most of all she loved the time she spent with her family and going to Caitlin's softball games. A celebration of Sandras life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 23 , 2014, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 3-6 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to: American Cancer Society.
