Sandra Jean Smith

Sandra Jean Smith, 73, of Georgetown, passed away at 11:40am, Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Hawthorne Inn, Danville. She was born on October 1, 1943, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Eugene and Mildred {Rasset} Drews. She was united in marriage to Carl D. Smith on April 14, 1962, until his passing on September 18, 1999. She will be missed by: her daughters, Jamie (John) Powell of Danville, Faye (Bart) Atwood of Westville, and Susie (Don) Smith of Westville; her grandchildren, Alishia, Courtnie, Joshua, Mykel, Adam (Marlee), Shaniqua, Jonathon, Christopher, Noah, Stephanie, & William; her great grandchildren, Alexis, Ethan, Eli, Laylah, Liam, Reagan, Riley, Quinn, & Aurelia; her sister, Collie Drews Chan; her sisters-in-law, Julie Powell, Barb (John) Blaufuss. Shelia (Mike) Woods; her many nephews & nieces; and her special friends, Florence & Carol, whom she really enjoyed their visits. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her son, Carl W. Smith; and her sister, Sharon Drews. Sandra enjoyed going to rummage sales, bowling, and dancing. She also loved listening to Country music. Sandra cherished spending time with family. She will be missed by all who loved her. A special thank you to the staff at Hawthorne Inn who made the last few months of her life welcoming & enjoyable. A celebration of Sandra's life will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to American Lung Association.
