Sandra Jean Hinton (Nosler) born November 3, 1937 in Danville to parents Elbert H.
Hinton and Edna W. Hinton (Bahls). She graduated from Danville High School in 1955 and graduated from Northeastern Illinois University in 1976 with a B.A. in Business
Administration. She had been married to Alfred Leon Nosler.
Sandi was Executive Director of the Vermilion County CETA Program until it was ended. She served as Executive Director of the Vermilion County Mental Health 708 Board for 15 years and retired in January 2002.
Sandi was active in the community. She was an animal lover and served on the Vermilion County Animal Shelter Board for a number of years. She served on the HALO Committee, Cancer Foundation Relay for Life, Co-Chaired the Faith in Action South Committee. Sandi was a committee member and Volunteer for First Night, DHS Reunion Committee, also was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and numerous other community organizations.
She was an avid outdoor person with hobbies including tent camping, RV'ing, hiking and running. Sandi was raised in the car business and was an overall car enthusiast and loved driving her 1973 AMC Gremlin, and riding her motorcycle.
Sandi was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
A funeral service celebrating Sandi’s life will take place on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 2 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 1- 2pm, also at the funeral home. Pastor Kent Tibben will officiate.
