Samuel T. Sanders

Samuel T. Sanders, 79, of Danville, IL passed away at home with his family by his side at 12:05 AM on October 10, 2025.

Samuel was born on March 2, 1946 the son of Roy and Hazel (Fleming) Sanders in Dante, VA.

Survivors include his children, Michael Sanders of Newburgh, IN and Rachel (Billy) Ray of Henderson, KY, his grandchildren, Warren and Whitney Ray of Henderson, KY, two siblings, Kedrick (Eileen) Sanders of Jenkins, KY and Nelda Kessler of Morehead City, NC, his partner of 13 years, Betty Kincer of Danville, IL and his former spouse, Mary Sanders of Henderson, KY.

Samuel is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Mike Sanders and Charlotte Ferree.

Samuel served his country in the United States Army. He was a retired Millwright and a member of the UAW for many years. Samuel enjoyed spending his free time watching sports, reading, spending time outdoors and working on cars.

As per Samuel’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and services will be held at a later date in Henderson, KY. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois, 61834 is assisting the family with local arrangements.

Memorials may be made in Samuel’s memory to the United Way.
