GEORGETOWN - Samuel Sam E. Potter, 67, of Georgetown, died at 7:30am, Thursday, March 27th, 2008, at his home. Sam was born on January 25th, 1941, in Danville, IL, the son of Mary Alberta (Norris) and Milo Toots Potter, the second of 12 children. Sam was united in marriage to Mary Jo (Smith) Potter who will miss him dearly. He leaves behind: his four children, Kellie Messmore of Danville, Ronnie (Mary Harvey) Potter of Kingman, IN, Jeff (Angie Kilbury) Potter of Georgetown, and Samantha Potter of Georgetown; his step-daughter, Melody (Milton) Kelson of W. Lebanon, IN; his fourteen grandchildren; his three great grandchildren; his two brothers, Donald Mouse (Pam) Potter of Indianola & Keith Rocky (Leslie) Potter of Georgetown; his four sisters, Sharon (Keith) Walker of Georgetown, Susan (Bob Voyles) Malkus of Fairmount, Sara Mingee of Tilton, and Shelley Butchie (Bobby Land) Potter of Ridge Farm; and 23 nieces & nephews. Sam was preceded in death by: his parents; his grandparents; his three brothers, Stephen, Albert, & Jewell Willie his two sisters, Vicki Jo Potter & infant sister, Lynn Potter; and his nephew, Travis Potter. Sam and Mary Jo have owned Josephines in Georgetown for seventeen years. Sam loved his family. He enjoyed NASCAR, drag racing, working on his home & yard. He really enjoyed having all his friends come out to sit under the big shade tree. A celebration of Sams life will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, April 1st, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Pastor Raymie Gordon will officiate the service. Visitation will be held 4-8p, Monday, March 31st, 2008, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Johnson Cemetery, Danville.
