Perrysville, Ind. - Samuel Elias Fleck, 83, of Perrysville, passed away at 5:10 p.m. EST Friday, December 12, 2014 at Williamsport Health and Rehabilitation Center in Williamsport, Indiana. He was born May 17, 1931 in Ari, Indiana the son of the late Elmer H. and Edna Wall Fleck. He married Francis Kyger Shields on February 3, 1976 in Ridge Farm, Illinois. She survives. Other survivors include four sons, Sam Fleck of Chandler, Indiana; Carl(Pia)Fleck of Layton, Utah; Tim(Annette)Fleck of Bismarck, Illinois and Greg Fleck of Chandler, Indiana; six stepchildren, Cindy(Everett)Fulkerson of Clinton, Indiana; Judy Shields of Sebring, Florida; Carolyn Conrad of Okeechobee, Florida; Jack(Bonnie)Shields of Perrysville, Indiana; Tom(Faye)Shields of McIntosh, Alabama and Scott(Marie)Shields of Perrysville, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Frank(Joyce)Fleck of Veedersburg, Indiana. Sam was preceded in death by his stepson, Jerry Shields; sister, Nancy Snyder and brother, Howard Fleck. Sam retired in 1993 from Harrison Steel in Attica, Indiana after 40 years. He formerly served in the Army National Guard. Sam was a 1949 graduate of Covington High School. He was a member of the Covington Church of the Nazarene. Sam enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling, hunting, reading westerns, history and shooting. He was especially loved studying his bible. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Tom Hunter; Visitation: 10 a.m. EST Wednesday, December 17, 2014 until time of services. Cremation will be accorded following services.
