Sam Nale, Jr., age 78 of Georgetown, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 8:38 PM at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Sam is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Nale; sons, Sammy Christopher (Debbie) Nale of Penfield and Brian Scott (Christy) Nale of Perrysville, IN; daughters, Paula (Jim) Jordan of Georgetown, Joan Barton of East Helena, MT, and Tamera Nale of Gallatin, TN; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brothers, Phillip (Goldie) Nale and Stephen (Linda) Nale, both of Georgetown; sisters Mildred (John) Craig of Chrisman, Violet Felgenhauer of Covington, IN, and Alice (Jim) Bodart of Georgetown; as well as many nieces, nephews, and good friends. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Alma Nale, three brothers and four sisters. Sam was born December 5, 1936 in Georgetown to Sam and Alma (Robinson) Nale. He married Patricia Moody on July 2, 1955 in Elwood Township, Georgetown. Sam worked at General Motors for 34 years and retired on May 25, 1987. He owned N & J Tree Service. After retiring he and his wife fulfilled their life-long dream and moved to Elliston, MT. There he worked at St. Peters Hospital in Helena, MT. He also worked as a garage sweeper in Tempe, AZ. Sam was a great carpenter and baker. He was known for his perfectly shaped yeast rolls and ginger snaps. Sam loved babies and was blessed to play an important role in helping raise his grandchildren. Sam served as Georgetown alderman for 8 years. He also served on the Georgetown Youth Football board and was a coach for the Georgetown Little League Baseball. Sam enjoyed being involved and loved to stay busy. Cremation rites were accorded and a Celebration of Sams life will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Community of Christ Church, 201 Oak Street in Georgetown. Ernest Rumple will be officiating. Memorials can be made in Sams name to the Vermilion County Humane Society.
