Sam Hicks, 80, of Covington, Indiana passed away on Friday morning at his home. Sam was born on April 25, 1944, in Sharkey, KY, the son of Nelson and Betty (Eldridge) Hicks. Sam married the love of his life Donna Czajka on October 1, 1966, and they celebrated 58 years together.
Sam leaves behind his wife Donna, his daughter Vicki (Clint) Kilby, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, his siblings, Madge James, Judy Allen, Molly (Richard) Burns, Debbie Hicks, and Monica (Chris) Clawson, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces, nephews, and several great great nieces, nephews.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, his son Ron Hicks, and two nephews.
Sam graduated from Perrysville, Indiana High School class in 1963. Sam worked at General Motors as a Mill Wright, then after 36 years retiring. He went to Master Guard and worked over 25 years there. Sam remodeled 11 homes that he and Donna lived in and owned. Sam was a hard worker, easy-going laid-back man. To know him was to Love him.
Per Sam’s wishes cremation rights will be accorded and a burial at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana, on Friday November 15, 2024 at 2 pm est. Sam’s family entrusted Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana, to assist with the arrangements.
