Sally Wright

Danville Sally Wright, 75, of Danville passed away at 2:28 PM on May 10, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Sally was born on September 4, 1947 the daughter of Robert and Doris (Hinton) Ellis in Danville, IL. She married Dan L. Anders on June 21, 1966 and he passed away on May 6, 1995. To this marriage were born two children, Jennifer Orvis and Jeff Anders. She later married Gerald Wright on August 21, 1992 and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2016.

Survivors include her children, Jennifer (Todd) Orvis of Catlin, IL and Jeff Anders of Danville, IL, grandchildren, Hayley (Kyle) Siefert of Oakwood, IL and Jackson (Maddie) Lockwood of Catlin, IL, great grandchildren, Alex Siefert and one on the way.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and sister, Sherry Ellis.

Sally was a stay-at-home mom until her kids got older and then worked for several years at the Palmer Bank as a teller. She then worked at the Vermilion County Clerks office for over 20 years until her retirement. Sally enjoyed the relationships with her many friends, and leaves behind two very special friends, Carolyn Hendrickson and Connie Hanson.

In her younger years she was an avid sun-worshipper, loved taking care of her many houseplants, and was always up for reading a good book. Sally loved Elvis Presley, saw him over 12 times, and even took both of her kids to his concert on February 14, 1977 while on vacation in St. Petersburg, FL. After she retired, Sally enjoyed working around her house, going to lunch with her friends, and being around family.

Private family services will be held and Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
