Sally Lee (Hartley) Turner, age 91, of Covington, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at 12:44 p.m.
Sally was born on June 28, 1934, in Danville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Glenn Turner (2002), as well as her brothers Roland Hartley and David Hartley. She is survived by her sister, Christine Rigdon.
Sally was the proud mother of her daughter, Deborah Lynn Satterfield, and a devoted grandmother to Jonathon Satterfield, Melissa (Satterfield) Fontenot, and Shannon (Satterfield) Blackwell. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Rahlund, Calla, William, and Forest.
A savvy businesswoman, Sally owned and operated Turner’s Paint and Wallpaper, where she was known for her knowledge and professionalism. Beyond her business, she was a respected and engaged member of the Covington community, including serving the Friends of the Library organization.
Within her family, Sally was the steady guiding presence—offering wisdom, perspective, and love, whether asked for or not, and always with the best intentions. She was sharp, loving, and deeply devoted to those around her. She loved playing dominoes, listening to Elvis, and her broccoli cheddar casserole and reunion cake were legendary.
She was a longtime and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville, Illinois, where her faith and sense of community were central to her life.
Visitation will be held Monday January 19, 2026, 3:00-4:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Covington Chapel, 420 3rd Street Covington, Indiana, followed by a short service.
