Sally Marie Crawford

Danville - Sally Marie Crawford, 79, of Danville, passed away on Friday February 19, 2016 at North Logan Health Care Center. She was born on March 8, 1936 in Danville, the daughter of Ralph & Dorothy (Brooks) Middlemas. Sally married Bill (Shadow) Crawford on November 23, 1958 at Central Christian Church in Georgetown, IL. Sally is survived by her husband; sons Gregory Crawford of Danville & Matthew (Jeanne) Crawford of Lake Zurich; daughter Lorri (Fuzz) Lewis of Greenville, NC; grandchildren Nicholas, Nathan, Jasmine, Shelby, Bailey, Will, sisters Judy (Jim) Mariage of Georgetown, & Nancy Koehn of Normal. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Larry; and brother-in-law Ken. Teaching was Sally's life. She was nominated Outstanding Teacher for District 118 in 1988. She had a creative mind and loved music, art, & gardening. She felt at home in the kitchen and loved cooking for her family. "A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drovebut the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child." Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Tuesday February 23, 2016 from 9-11am with service to follow at 11am at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sally's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
