Sally Estrada Luna

Sally Estrada Luna, 98, passed away on May 9, 2026, in Paxton, IL. She was born in Kansas City, KS, on July 5, 1927, the daughter of Felix and Elpidia Estrada.

Sally is survived by her children, Ron (June) Luna and grandchildren Robby, Michael, Michelle, Jennifer, and Sean; Carl (Marsha) Luna and grandchildren Carl Jr., Brad, and Shelby; Arnold (Diana) Luna and grandchildren Larry, Jamie, and Lisa; Paul (Wendy) Luna and grandchildren Brooke, Brittney, Bryant, and Lauren; and Sharon (Robert) Van de Graaf and grandchildren Sydney and Grey; her brother, Frank Estrada; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Paul G. Luna Sr., and brothers, Rosco, Paul, Al, John, and Joe Estrada.

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved mother, whose home was a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love. She had a remarkable gift for homemaking — not simply in keeping a beautiful house, but in creating a space where everyone felt welcomed, valued, and cared for. Her kitchen was often filled with the smells of home-cooked meals, her table always had room for one more, and her door was forever open to family, friends, neighbors, and anyone in need of kindness.

She made ordinary moments feel special through her generosity, thoughtfulness, and quiet strength. Whether offering a warm meal, a listening ear, or simple encouragement, she had a way of making people feel at ease and deeply loved. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in caring for those around her.

A devoted Catholic, Sally’s faith was an important part of her life. One of the many cherished memories her family will carry with them is how she would lovingly bless and pray over family members before they traveled home, asking for safe travels and God’s protection. Her warmth, prayers, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten

Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the love she poured into every detail of her home, and the countless lives she touched with her hospitality and grace. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
