Sally Louise Nolan

Danville- Sally Louise Nolan, 80, of Danville passed away at 10:02 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on November 27, 1933 in Covington, IN, the daughter of Sam and Ivene Smith Blue. She married Clarence “Jerry” Nolan on January 26, 1952 in Danville. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy West of Danville; a sister, Sandy (Jim) Grubbs; four grandchildren, Jodie Nolan, Jessi (Patrick) Lomax, Jake West, and Ashley (Brad) Nolan; three great-grandchildren, Justin Connor, Addison Nolan, and Quentin Alblinger; a nephew, Dan Burmeister; several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Jack Bowman; brother in law, Bill Nolan; and special family and friends, Merle Beddow, Della Montgomery, Monika Pedrazoli-Hickman, Olivia Hickman, Emily Hickman, Mackenzie Pledger, and Abby Smith. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Nolan, four sisters, Marjorie, Pat, Joan, and Opal, a brother Billy, and her parents. In past years, Sally had worked as a beautician out of her home. She liked to cook, sit on her swing, go mushroom hunting, play cards, and will be remembered as a very thrifty shopper. Sally loved to take walks and enjoyed finding pennies along the way and could often be caught humming and singing. She also enjoyed getting a bargain at garage sales, travelling, and spending time with her friends. Most of all, Sally loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. A service to celebrate the life of Sally Nolan will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Michael Heidle will officiate. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-5 PM on Sunday, January 26, also at Sunset in Danville.
