Tilton, Ill. - Sally Jo Head, 67, of Tilton and formerly of Kingman, Indiana (Silver Island) passed away at 7:55 p.m. CST Monday, March 5, 2012 at her residence. She was born September 3, 1944 in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Chester Ross and Dorothy Agnes Anderson Lyons. She married Robert Lem Head on January 1, 1964 in Tilton, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2009. Survivors include her children, Gary(Lana)Head of Rockville, Indiana; Christy Cruea of Tilton, Illinois and Bobbi Jo(Rodrigo)Head of Veedersburg, Indiana; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Rosie Landers of Tilton, Illinois; two brothers, Robert(Phyllis)Lyons of Catlin, Illinois and Fred(Cheryl)Lyons of Tilton, Illinois; sister in law, Mary(Richard)King of Crawfordsville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Lisa Head. Sally was a cook and last worked at Benjamin's in Covington, Indiana. She was a 1962 graduate of Danville High School. Sally enjoyed playing bingo, slots, blackjack, baking, watching the Pittsburg Steelers and NASCAR, always cheering on her favorite driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Most of all Sally cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Graveside services and burial: 1 P.M. EST Friday, March 9, 2012 at Silver Island Cemetery in rural Kingman, Indiana; Officiating: Paul Kent. There will be no visitation. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
