Sally Bland, 72, of Danville passed away on April 27, 2018 peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 11, 1945 in Danville, the daughter of Rex and Sarah (Abston) Richards. She married Bill Bland on February 16, 1963 in Georgetown, IL. Sally is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Bill; a son, Christopher (Amanda); and two grandchildren, Liam and Andrew. She is also survived by 7 brothers and sisters; Janet, Patricia, Pamela, Vicki, Peggy, Lisa and Rex. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Rex and Sarah Richards; her brothers Donald and Jack; and sisters Carol and Donna. Sally was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, and playing with her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and traveling with her family. Her greatest joy came from bringing happiness to her family and many friends. Special thanks to Sally's amazing caregivers, Jody Duncheon and her daughter Britni. A celebration of life memorial visitation for Sally will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Private services will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials can be made in Sally's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Danville Humane Society.
