Sallie Asbury

Sallie Asbury, 82, of Rockville, Indiana, formerly of Tangier, Indiana, passed away at her granddaughters home peacefully on Monday December 3, 2024, in the early hours. Sallie was born in Cayuga, Indiana on December 17, 1941, the daughter of Ernest and Catherine (Weir) Atkinson. Sallie married Kenneth Asbury Sr, on March 30, 1957, they had many great years together until his passing on September 18, 2009.

Sallie leaves behind her daughter Cathy Asbury, her grandchildren Rana Cooper, Manda (Corey) Alexander, her great grandchildren Kristen, Johnathan, Jacob, Lorie, Abraham, and Anastasia, one sister Henrietta Norman.

Sallie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Kenneth Jr, her sister Betty Maxfield, and brother Robert “Bob” Atkinson.

Sallie loved her family and spending time with them helping them and caring for them was a great source of pride for her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held at Sunset’s DeVerter Chapel in Cayuga, Indiana, 215 North Division Street, from 11-1 est on Monday December 9, 2024.
