Sadie Lee Cramer

CHAMPAIGN - Sadie Lee Cramer, 77, of Champaign passed away at 12:05 p.m. Friday, October 21 at Carle Hospital in Urbana. Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Tolono. Pastor Mike Frazier will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Sadie was born to Frank and Dorothy Lewis of Tuscola on August 8, 1939 and was the youngest of three children, including Oval (Lloyd) Dunwoodie of Tuscola and Glen (Gloria) Basham of Osage Beach, Missouri. She attended Champaign High School, married Donald Cramer on June 9, 1956 in Urbana and started their family in 1958-welcoming three children, Tamara (Richard) Stierwalt of Ivesdale, Tony (Lynnette) Cramer of Tuscola and Scotty (Julie) Cramer of Dalton City. From cooking mouthwatering dishes (macaroni and cheese and goulash to name a few) to creating lasting memories fishing and camping, Sadie served her family as a loving homemaker. As a committed volunteer, she served various charitable organizations throughout the community as an award-winning member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Champaign County-including Crisis Nursery in Urbana, Stevick Senior Citizen Center in Champaign and Salvation Army in Champaign. When she wasn't finding the best bargains at neighborhood garage sales, she was competing with her companions during regular BINGO games and adding angels to her figurine collection. Sadie, or lovingly known as Grandma, has six grandchildren, whom she adored: Derek (Madeline) Stierwalt, Christa (Bryce) Dubson, Danny (Katie) Stierwalt, Kurtis (Kim) Cramer, Aaron Cramer and Olivia Cramer. She also has five great-grandchildren: Rosemary Stierwalt, Waylon and Whitney Dubson, and Daisy and Eli Stierwalt. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tamara Stierwalt, and brother, Glen Basham.
