Ryan L. Wood

Ryan L. Wood, 26, of Danville, died on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at his home. He was born on October 9, 1983, in Danville. He is survived by both his mother, Rebecca & Bill Shannon of Danville and his father, Michael Wood of Duluth, MN. He was united in marriage to Melissa Loschen on July 30, 2010, in Danville, IL; she will miss him dearly. Other survivors include: his son, Brady Lee Wood of Danville; his step-son, Kaleb Scaggs of Danville; his maternal grandmother, Mary T. Cox of Terre Haute, IN; his paternal grandparents, Margarete G. Shannon of Danville, B.J. Howard of Sullivan, IN, & Kenneth & Gail Wood of Greenwood, IN; his brothers, Christopher M. Wood of Augusta, GA, & Jared M. Wood of Duluth, MN; his sisters, Courtney M. Montel of Danville & Lindsey N. Wood of Duluth, MN; his mother-in-law, Diane Loschen of Danville; his father-in-law, David Thayer of Tampa, FL; and with so many special friends, Ryan will be truly missed by many. He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Donald E. Cox & Luther P. Shannon. Ryan owned and operated Woods Flooring Service. He was a member of the Juko-Kai Martial Arts and was an instructor with a black belt. He enjoyed playing X-Box and computer games, including World of Warcraft. He also enjoyed taking his family for rides on his riding mower, fishing, & riding his Harley. Ryan also liked playing co-ed softball & baseball as well as football. He really loved spending time with his family and was known as a great family man. A celebration of Ryans life will be held at 1030am, Monday, August 16, 2010, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, a Life Celebration Home, 414 S State St, Westville, IL. Rebecca Cronkhite will officiate. Visitation will be 2-6pm, Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Memorial donations may be given to his family.
