Ryan Allen Katcher

Ryan Allen Katcher of Oakwood went to be with the lord at age 19. He was born February 4, 1981 in Danville the son of Robert and Linda Youhas Katcher. Surviving is his mother and step-father Linda and Bruce Griffith of Oakwood, one sister; Stephanie and Michael Mai of San Jose, Ca, his grandmother; Janice Youhas of Oakwood, one step-brother; Robert Griffith of Danville, two step-sisters; Cheri and Ben Makemson of Georgetown, Megan Griffith of Tampa, Fl. Ryan was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents; George and Audria Katcher and his maternal grandfather Andrew Youhas. Ryan was a 1999 graduate of Oakwood High School and was a marketing major in the College of Business at the University of Illinois; Ryan was on the Deans list. His hobbies were working on computers, surfing the internet and carpentry. Ryan enjoyed our simple life, his family, his friends, his dog and hunting and fishing. He was close to his sister Steph and they both held the nickname Katch or Katcher. We will be together someday and until then you are always in our hearts, consider yourself hugged. A celebration of life funeral service for Ryan Katcher will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday August 2, 2006 at First Baptist Church 1211 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Officiating will be Pastor Jerry Cummins. Burial will be in Oakridge cemetery in Catlin. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Tuesday August 1, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, Il. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to: Continue the Ryan Katcher Scholarship Fund or to obtain equipment for Dive or Search or Rescue Team.
