Ruthy Lee Brightwell

Urbana Ruthy Lee Brightwell, 78, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at her home in Urbana, IL. She was born on April 25, 1940 in Holly Springs, MS to M.L. and Roberta (Holden) Lesure. Ruthy married Paul Brightwell in 1997.

Ruthy is survived by her children Jeana Lesure, Lila Lesure, James Tillman, and Kenneth Tillman; siblings Clara Lesure, Billy Lesure, Shirley Lesure, Charles Lesure, Herbert Lesure, Deborah Ann Wright, and Shirley Hill; cousins Gloria Mosley and Evelyn Davis; close friends Mary Rose and Evelyn Brooks; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons Curtis Lesure and Anthony Tillman; siblings Louis Lesure, Robert Lesure, Barbara Jean Lesure, Roberta Wright, Gloria Lesure, and Elmore Raymond Lesure.

Ruthy enjoyed cooking, playing cards, singing, and dancing. She liked to watch movies, game shows, and soap operas.

A celebration of Ruthys life will be held from 11am-1pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 1310 N. 6th St., Champaign, IL 61820.
