Ruth Weeger

Ruth A. Weegar, 84, of Danville, formerly of Dubuque, IA, passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Provena United Samaritan Medical Center. in Danville. Ruth was born June 20, 1923, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of John and Christana (Schroeder) Williams. She married William Weegar in Rossville, IL on October 6, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1976. Ruth is survived by a son, Laurence (Sue) Weegar of Danville; two brothers, John and Jerry Williams both of Dubuque, IA; two sisters, Dorothy Milton of Millington, TN and Shirley Kemler of Dubuque, IA; one grandchild, Dorie Newton of Danville; two great-grandchildren, Tera Morton and Deven Newton both of Danville and a special friend, David Vallet of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty. Ruth had worked at Dubuque Packing before moving to the area. She then worked at General Electric for 28 years, retiring in 1983. Ruth was a member of the General Electric retirees club, DanGee. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers and loved her cats. Ruth attended Abundant Life Penecostal Church of God. She will be sadly missed by her grandchild and great-grandchildren. A celebration of Ruths life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor James Ford officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
