Ruth Richardson

Ruth Richardson, 76, of Danville passed away on September 9, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

She was born on December 30, 1942 in Danville, the daughter of Joseph Calvin Edward and Vella Pearl (Roy) Smith. She married Bill Richardson Sr. on September 14, 1959 in Danville. He survives.

Ruth will be deeply missed by her husband, Bill, children; Billy (Brenda) Richardson Jr. of Danville, Steve (Teresa) Richardson of Danville, Scott Alan Richardson of Danville, Teresa Marie (Jose) Santos of Madison, AL and Tina Louise (Eric) Bowers of Eugene, IN. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 half-sisters, Delia and Susan Hutchins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Smith.

Ruth worked as a cook for a few restaurants and also waitressing. She loved crocheting, bird watching, and spending time with friends and family. Ruth was an avid gardener, planting many flowers, especially orchids.

A private family celebration of life for Ruth will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville 3940 North Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834.
