Ruth Louise Wehrle, 88, of Danville IL, passed away at 7:00am on Sunday May 19, 2013 at her home in Danville IL. Ruth was born on January 7, 1925, to William and Sallie (Jones) Mowry at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis IN. She married David P. Wehrle on April 15, 1952, at Scott Air Force Base Chapel in Belleville IL., he preceded her in death on August 11, 2000. Ruth is survived by her daughter Nancy (Michael) Gondron of San Jose CA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David, daughter Becky Wehrle, brothers William Thomas and Garland "Jim" Mowry, and her sisters Betty Lou Estridge and Mary R. Cramer. She graduated from Warren Central High School and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis IN. She served in the United States Air Force as a registered nurse, stationed at Scott Air Force Base, where she met and married her sweetheart of 48 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and enjoyed working as a Faith in Action Volunteer. As per Ruth's wishes she is to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday May 24, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville with Father Robert Hoffman officiating and burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville IL. A visitation will be held an hour prior to services from 9:00 to 10:00 on Friday May 24, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville is in charge of services. Memorials may be made in Ruth's name to the Fisher House Foundation Inc., 111 Rockville Pike Suite 420 Rockville MD 20850; www.fisherhouse.org/donate.
