Ruth Grimm

Fithian - Ruth Grimm, 94, of Fithian passed away at 4:55 AM on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 7, 1922 in Dana, IN to Claude and Zula (Warner) Myers. She married James Russell Grimm on June 1, 1939. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1993. She is survived by three children, Lora (John) Harrison of Fithian, Nancy (Roy) Durbin of Oakwood, and Barry Russell (LuAnn) Grimm, Sr. of Oakwood; two brothers, Raymond (Clarene) Myers and Marvin "Bud" (Sue) Myers; two sisters, Norma Jean (Vernon) Peterson and Dorothy (Jack) Martin; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, a sister, and 5 infant siblings. Ruth was a member of the Fithian United Methodist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was an outstanding cook, but especially loved caring for and spending time with her family. A service to celebrate the life of Ruth Grimm will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel. Pastor Leland L. Legg, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Stearns Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-11 AM prior to the service on Saturday, also at Sunset in Oakwood. Memorials may be made to the Fithian United Methodist Church.
